Kaplan turbines
Kaplan Turbines are impeller-turbines, where the runner turns in the water flow like a ship's propeller.
Kaplan water turbine is axial overpressure water turbine, which has a radial inflow, outflow, however axial. It is used for high flow rates and low lows. For a wide range of flow rate is achieved a very good yields, even more than 92%. More than 20 years of experience means the accumulation of experience and knowledge that guarantee internationally competitive solutions.
Single regulated (Semi-Kaplan) turbines
Single Regulated (Semi-Kaplan) turbine is a fixed-guide vane Kaplan turbine. The single regulation of the runner blades makes the turbine cost effective where the flow does not vary much, but needs additional controlled intake or draft tube gate to stop the unit. It can be directly connected to generator shaft or through a belt drive or gearbox.
S-type Kaplan turbines
S-type Kaplan turbine consists usually of a two elbow shaped housing inlet-outlet and horizontal or vertical shaft. Instead of spiral distributor is used a conical distributor. It can also be single or double regulated. This type is suitable for run of river generating stations where the flow varies considerably.
Pit-Bulb Kaplan turbines
Pit-Bulb Kaplan turbine is used for very low heads and high discharges and is using a horizontal shaft orientation. The turbine with shaft, bearings and usually also the generator are submerged in a sealed casing inside the water.
